We’ll start with an easy one… when was 57 Creative Limited  established?   In November 2011 when I spotted a gap in the market. I noticed the rapid rise in smart phone use, but a lack of privacy protection available in comparison to that we all have installed on our laptops or PCs. As a result, I decided to create a privacy protection app called spPROTECT.   What’s your elevator pitch?   There are 49 million smart phone users in the UK, but the vast majority are unprotected. We all have security measures installed on our devices at home and work, but the one device that many people use the most (particularly when they are on the move) is rarely protected. spPROTECT fills this huge gap in the mobile phones market.  Remember it’s a privacy protection app and not a security app, such as MacAfee and the like.  The reason why you hear about so many celebs having their phones hacked?  They don’t yet have spPROTECT (‘smartphone privacy PROTECTion’).   What is the one piece of advice that you would give to someone just about to go into business on their own?   Make sure you have incredible customer service, no matter what your business is. If you need to contact us, we don’t just offer email like many companies. In addition, we have a twenty four hour telephone helpline and a live chat service, for when you really need us most.   What is the best business decision that you’ve ever made?    I would have to say it is starting up this business – when I found this gap in the market I didn’t just accept it but had the courage to start a new venture and find a way to fill that gap with a niche product.   And the worst…?  (If you’re prepared to share!)   Opening an office in Miami but not physically being there at the time. I wish I had put the time into organically growing the business. I view every business as a living entity – neglect it and the flame soon dies out.   What are you going to do differently over the next 12 months? (Particularly in light of the current economic climate) Concentrate on the online side of the business, rather than limiting my investment to one particular place such as bricks and mortar. The app will be available globally on three platforms (Itunes, Google Play and Windows) on a Freemium and Premium model, so I am going to focus my attention on growing this on a global scale.   And finally, what do you most value about working with Waterfront?   The customer service I have received from Mike in the commercial team.
