Managing Employee Exits

Event date: 03/04/19

Location: SE1 - London Bridge

HR professionals are familiar with this phone call from the business: “Joe Bloggs is no longer right for us, I think it’s time we parted ways

This training session will take you through the process that should follow that call, with a focus on negotiating agreed exits.

Waterfront’s employment team has more than 15 years’ experience of advising both employers and employees at the end of their working relationships.  They will share with you some valuable tactics which they have learnt over the years; tactics which you can deploy when someone in your organisation is not right for the business.  For HR professionals the session will offer insights into how employees (and their lawyers) approach negotiations, which will leave you better equipped to achieve the desired outcomes quickly, fairly and lawfully.

The session will cover:

  • Unfair dismissal protection – should it change your approach?
  • Protected conversations – timing and tactics (and what not to say)
  • How to deal with the sick employee
  • Severance packages – how much to offer and why, plus how to sell your offer
  • Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements – in light of recent press attention, what should you do?

The training will be followed by a Q&A session.

  • 8.30am Breakfast & networking
  • 9.00am Seminar starts
  • 9.40am Q&A
