Dec 9, 2021
Author: Anthony Purvis
Waterfront is to host a webinar on how companies can negotiate and agree the end of the employment relationship when someone is no longer right for the business.
The session, which will be of value to HR professionals, company directors and senior corporate figures, will be held on Thursday 3rd February 2022 at 2pm. It will explain how to manage the process of negotiating an agreed exit with an employee to ensure the best possible conclusion to discussions.
As Waterfront’s employment solicitors have more than 20 years’ experience of advising both employers and employees at the end of their working relationships, they will identify and address all the important issues in the process.
The session will cover:
- Unfair dismissal and the legal framework
- Open and protected conversations – timing and tactics (and what not to say)
- Severance packages – how much to offer and why, plus how to sell your offer
- Negotiating the deal
- Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements
- Tips for more efficient tax planning
The team will share tactics that have proved valuable and explain how they can be used in your business.
The session is designed to provide HR professionals with practical insights into how employees (and their lawyers) approach negotiations, making them better equipped to ensure such situations are resolved fairly, lawfully and as swiftly as possible.
Waterfront will be joined by Dominic McLoughney from financial planners Becketts. Dominic will outline some interesting case studies to show how an exit package can be made tax efficient for both the employee and the business.
The webinar will be followed by a question and answer session, where the panel will respond to specific queries from the audience.
