Waterfront has advised Exseed Health Limited (“Exseed”) in connection with the equity investment round in to the company by several corporate investors and a group of private individual investors.

Exseed is a Denmark based company that has worked closely with industrial designers and leading scientists to build a state-of-the-art smartphone compatible device that you can use at home to test sperm quality. The device is not only convenient but also allows for a less invasive method of testing. Also part of their product/service is an artificial intelligence powered lifestyle program to subsequently help men improve their sperm quality and overall health. The stigma that surrounds male fertility can prevent some from seeking assistance and so the ability for men to test sperm quality in the comfort of their own home could be revolutionary. Exseed was rated by Forbes as the number one Startup to Watch in 2018. Exseed’s product has wide interest and appeal and this is reflected in the makeup of its investors.

The Waterfront team was led by Matt Cunningham (Partner and head of corporate law) and Okachi Kejeh (Associate) who worked closely with Exseed throughout, with support from Matthew Akehurst (Trainee).

Matt Cunningham, commented: “Waterfront are pleased to have assisted Morten and his team with their first fundraise outside of their native Denmark. We look forward to supporting the company and its management team as they expand.”

Morten Ulsted, Co-Founder and CEO at Exseed, commented: “The assistance we received from Okachi and Matt throughout the process was clear and concise; their practical advice and good knowledge of the process was key to ensuring the transaction was completed with our future business aims in mind.”

Waterfront count several hundred tech start-ups among their client base but it is especially exciting to oversee the fundraising process for the advancement of pioneering health related technology such as this.
